Why convert WebP to JPG

WebP is great for the web — smaller files than JPG at the same quality — but that is also its problem. Plenty of desktop apps, photo viewers, older versions of Office, and upload forms still don't accept WebP. When you save an image from a website and it lands as a .webp file you can't open or upload, converting to JPG is the fix.

It all runs in your browser: the WebP is decoded locally, re-encoded as JPG on your own device, and never uploaded. If you need a different target format instead of JPG, our image format converter handles PNG and WebP in every direction.

Your files never leave your browser.

All processing runs locally on your device. No uploads, no tracking of file content.

FAQ

How do I convert WebP to JPG?

Drop your WebP file into the box above. JPG is already selected as the output, so just click convert and download. Drop several WebP files to convert them all at once.

Why won't my WebP file open?

WebP is a modern web format. Some older apps, email clients, government portals, and Office versions don't recognize it and refuse to open or accept it. Converting to JPG fixes every one of those cases — JPG opens everywhere.

Is converting WebP to JPG free and unlimited?

Yes. No daily cap, no signup, no watermark. Convert as many WebP files to JPG as you like.

Are my WebP files uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device — check the Network tab if you want to confirm.

What happens to a transparent WebP?

JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white in the converted JPG. If you need to keep transparency, convert to PNG instead using our image format converter.

Can I convert multiple WebP files to JPG at once?

Yes. Drop as many WebP files as you want in one go. Each is converted and downloaded separately.

Will I lose quality converting WebP to JPG?

Both WebP and JPG are lossy, so there is a small re-compression step. At quality 85–95 the difference is invisible for photos. The JPG will usually be a little larger than the WebP for the same image.
